FIRST Scholarship 2025

Oregon Institute of Technology offers the First Scholarship to graduating high school senior students who demonstrate an interest in engineering majors. Two outstanding high school seniors will receive an award of $1,500 each who join the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) or FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) at the institution. The Scholarship will cater tuition and fees at the institution.

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Must be Active participation and leadership on a successful FRC or FTC team for a minimum of two years
  • Must have a Required GPA: 3.0
  • Must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents who reside in Oregon.
  • Must be high school graduates who are enrolled in an engineering major for the fall term.

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

  • The FIRST Scholarship Application
  • A one page essay where you identify a significant problem in the world, and how you as an engineer would contribute to the solution
  • High school transcript
  • Transcripts for any community college courses completed (if applicable)
  • Copies of results from Advanced Placement or other college credit exams (if applicable)
  • Copies of results from standardized exams (either SAT or ACT)

Selection Process:

The application will be judged based on the various factors.
