The New York Section American Water Works Association (NYSAWWA) Board of Governors offers the scholarship, aimed at encouraging high school seniors and freshmen currently enrolled at a college/university to pursue a degree related to the water industry or pursuing an environmental degree. Under the program, two winners will receive an award of $1,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must have their legal residence in New York State or their status as students enrolled in a New York State institution or university.
- Must be graduate high school senior who has been accepted into a four-year college or university to pursue a degree in the water industry or a full-time freshman at a four-year college or university to pursue a degree in the water sector.
