The New York Section AWWA launched the Plant/Distribution System Operations Scholarship. Four students will be awarded an award of $500. The amount will cover water system operator courses, attendance at the Annual New York Water Event and/or Edwin C. Tifft Jr. Water Supply Symposium.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must have Membership in the American Water Works Association.
- Must be a licensed Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator and employed by a New York State water purveyor.

Application Process:
Here’s what you must submit besides your application.
- A completed “NYSAWWA Operators Scholarship” application.
- a write-up of the applicant’s job description and a short A paragraph on plans for use of the scholarship fund.
- A copy of Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator’s License
Selection Process:
This scholarship will be awarded to an individual based on merit.
