AWWA’s The Water Equation Campaign and the New York Section American Water Works Association supports the One AWWA Operator Scholarship. The department will award the One AWWA Operator Scholarship for $1,000 for Water or Wastewater Operator training and education.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- A completed “NYSAWWA Operators Scholarship” application.
- Membership in the American Water Works Association.
- Must be a licensed Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator and employed by a New York State water purveyor.
- A write-up of the applicant’s job description.
- A short paragraph on plans for use of the scholarship fund.

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.
- Complete online application.
- Have an AWWA member number or utility membership number.
- Enclose a copy of Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator’s License.
