The Georgia HOPE Scholarship was launched in 1993 to assist students with educational funds to cover their expenses, including tuition fees, at eligible Georgia postsecondary institutions to incent and reward Georgia’s high achieving students. Helping Outstanding Pupils Educationally (HOPE) administers the scholarship., and has has offered more than $14 billion of financial assistance for educational programs beyond high school.

HOPE Scholarship is a merit-based award and is given to Georgia residents who have demonstrated academic achievement. To be eligible, the recipient must graduate from high school with a minimum 3.00 grade point average (as calculated by GSFC) and have a minimum 3.00 cumulative postsecondary grade point average.
The Georgia HOPE Scholarship offers funds worth between $20,000 and $60,000 to cover tuition expenses for students pursuing an undergraduate degree in an eligible college or university in Georgia.

HOPE has offered awards to over 1.8 million students to pursue studies at eligible state public and private institutions.
