The Mildred C. (Millie) Hanson, SIOR Memorial Fund offers an $8,000 scholarship to one outstanding junior or senior undergraduate female student enrolled in an accredited real estate, business, or finance program at a college or university in the United States or Canada who intends to pursue a career in commercial real estate. The deadline for submissions is 5:00 PM EDT, Friday, October 31, 2025.
Scholarship funds can be used for expenses including tuition, room and board, textbooks and materials, and any other expenses related to achieving an undergraduate degree.

Eligibility:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be citizens of the United States or Canada.
- Enrolled in an accredited college or university geographically located in the United States or Canada
- Must be pursuing an undergraduate or graduate level degree related to commercial real estate (the “Qualified Program”).

The application must be completed and submitted in its entirety electronically to the Foundation’s office no later than 5:00 PM EDT, Friday, October 31, 2025. Only letters of recommendation may come under separate cover.
Selection Criteria:
- The applicant’s indication of interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate; please specify where your interests lie within the commercial real estate industry and plans upon completion ofthe degree.
- Record of scholastic achievement to date, including academic grade point average and extracurricular activities.
The selection committee of members of the SIOR Foundation will consider the applicant’s academic ability, community service and/or job, financial need or situation, and recommendations from two people.
