The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) offers the Government Finance Professional Development Scholarship, aimed at supporting minority students who are preparing for a career interest in state and local government finance. Under the scholarship, an undergraduate or graduate student will receive a one-time $10,000 award.

Eligibility:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Be minorities from the US or Canada
• Must be pursuing a full-time or part-time graduate or undergraduate degree in public administration, (governmental) accounting, finance, economics, or business administration (with a specific focus on government) in an accredited university in the U.S. or Canada.
