The Regions Foundation created the Regions Riding Forward Scholarship Competition, aimed at honoring the achievements of Black Americans who motivate others to make a difference in their communities. Under the program, annually $3,500 scholarships will be allowed to 30 freshmen, sophomores, or junior students.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be a legal U.S. resident of one of the Eligible States including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas.
- Must be age 16 or older.
- Must have at least one (1) year (or at least 18 semester hours) remaining before your undergraduate college graduation.
- Must have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in school (and if no GPA is provided at school, be in “good standing” or the equivalent thereof in school).

Application Process:
Here’s what you must submit besides your application.
- Written Essay or Video Essay – Essays must be 500 words or less in length.
- Video essays must be no longer than 3 minutes long and no larger than 1 GB in size. Only MP4, MPG, MOV, AVI, and WMV file formats will be accepted.
Selection Process:
Applications will be evaluated based on the submission quality.
