Jerlean Townsend Memorial Scholarship 2025

The recipient will receive a $1,000 scholarship paid directly to the junior college or university of his/her choice.The award will help students to pursue an undergraduate degree in the study of their choice in Mississippi.

Jerlean Townsend Memorial Scholarship – Overview

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Must be a high school senior currently enrolled in any high school in the state of Mississippi.
• Must attend a junior college or university in the state of Mississippi.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA and a school transcript statement.

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

2-4 minute video presentation answering the following question.

• Introduction. Tell us your name, where you are from, your current high school, and where you plan to attend college.
• Response. If you had the opportunity to change one thing to increase the quality of life for the people in Mississippi what would it be? Why?
• Personal. How would this change have impacted your own life?
• Lessons. What would you hope to be the lasting effects of this change?
• Closing. How would receiving this scholarship contribute to your career path?

Selection Process:

Project Impact MS committee will consider applications based on the eligibility conditions, instructions, and overall performance of each applicant.
