The CAPA award is offered to full in-state tuition for the upcoming academic year (two regular semesters, does not include winter or summer terms). Under the program, 10 winners will receive an award ranging from $20,000 to $60,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be Current or newly-admitted undergraduate at the University of Maryland, College Park, by April 7
- Must have declared studio art major
- Must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Must have minimum of two full-time semesters (upcoming academic year) remaining before graduating

Application Process:
Here’s what you must submit besides your application.
Digital Portfolio
A portfolio of 12 single image files (jpegs smaller than 2 MB each). Choose artwork carefully. Photos should be clear, in focus and of ample resolution. If submitting time-based or interactive work, upload one representative still image and include a YouTube, Vimeo or other online link.
The following information for each image: one-sentence description, media, creation date and dimensions.
Incoming freshmen will submit AP or high school portfolios; current freshmen may include several pieces (no more than half) from high school; all other applicants should submit recent work from college.

References
Names and phone numbers of three art instructors, advisors and/or school counselors.
Short Statement
Briefly describe, in a paragraph or two, your past and present hobbies, interests and/or jobs.
Selection Process:
The Department of Art faculty will choose Scholarship winners and send Decision notifications by email. Awarded funds will be credited to the CAPA scholars’ student accounts at the beginning of each semester.
