The National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women’s Clubs (NANBPWC) established the Dr. Blanca Moore-Velez Woman of Substance Scholarship. The Association supports African American women who have joined the university later in life. Every year, One woman in undergraduate and postgraduate programs in accredited universities in the United States can receive an award ranging from $1,000–$10,000.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be African American female age 35+
- Must be a United States Citizen
- Must have a Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale by February 1st.
