The Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship is open to currently qualified graduate students in the United States. The program was established in honor of a dedicated educator and tireless advocate for wilderness protection, Gloria Barron. Two graduate students will receive an award of $25,000 each and will get support for research and preparation of a paper on an aspect of wilderness.

Eligibility Criteria:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be currently enrolled in an accredited graduate institution in the United States at the time of application;
- Must hold strong academic qualifications, and
- Must have academic and/or career goals focused on making a significant positive difference in the long-term protection of wilderness in the United States.
