Jeanne L. Hammond Memorial Scholarship

The Jeanne L. Hammond Memorial Scholarship is offered to woman in honor of Jeanne L. Hammond who was a member of BPW for over 50 years. Under the scholarship, $1,500 will be awarded to a female student in meeting educational expenses for the second semester of the first year of post-secondary study.

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Must be any woman in Maine who is a recent high school graduate or career person intent on continuing her education.
  • Must be a woman, who is a Maine resident, with demonstrated financial need, to obtain an undergraduate degree or certification on at least a half-time basis.

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

  • Completed application form, with statement of financial need completed by a Financial Aid Official or Guidance Counselor.
  • Official transcript from high school(s) or college(s).
  • Verification of acceptance from the college or school.
  • At least two letters of recommendations pertinent to this application.

Selection Process:

The winners will be evaluated based on the level of financial need demonstrated, and a realistic goal relating to educational plans.
