John and Abigail Adams Scholarship 2025

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education offers the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship to high school graduates. To apply for this award, you must be citizens of the United States or non-citizens permitted to work and live in the United States who are currently enrolled full-time in a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.

The Scholarship offers a tuition credit for up to eight semesters of undergraduate education at a Massachusetts state college or university. The award will cover tuition only and while fees and room and board will not be included. The scholarship must be used within six years of a student’s high school graduation.

Every year, the winners who are pursuing full-time degrees in any field of study receive tuition credits ranging from $1,417 to $1,714. It’s a merit-based scholarship program that is payable up to eight semesters of undergraduate study at a Massachusetts state college or university.

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Must be High School Freshman – High School Graduate.
• Age must be between 17 and 23 years.
• Must be enrolled full-time in a certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.

Selection Process:

Scholarships will be awarded based on various factors such as students who have a combined score that ranks them in the top 25% of their district’s students and who also follow the MCAS score requirements, enrolled full-time in a certificate, associate’s, or bachelor’s degree program at an accredited institution.

Facts about The John and Abigail Adams Scholarship

• This scholarship will include undergraduate tuition at any of the 29 UMass universities, MA state universities, MA community colleges, and online colleges for up to eight semesters.
• Individual student will receive an award ranging from $1,417 to $1,714 at Massachusetts universities, with $1,714 at Amherst, $1,714 at Boston, $1,417 at Dartmouth, and $1,454 at Lowell.
• If you have been transferred from a public university in another state or are enrolled in a private college. So, you must have a cumulative 3.0 GPA to apply for the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship.
• You must fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
• The committee will contact students who fulfil the Scholarship’s qualifying criteria in the fall of their final year of high school.
