Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship 2025

The Kansas Board of Regents created the Kansas Ethnic Minority Scholarship, aimed at helping academically gifted students who identify as members of any of the following ethnic or racial groups: African Americans, American Indian/Alaskan Natives, Asian/Pacific Islanders, or Hispanics.

Under the Ethnic Minority Scholarship, the winners will receive $1,850 per year ($925 each semester). The amount will depend on financial need as determined by Federal Methodology using FAFSA data and state funding availability. To take advantage of this award, Recipients must be attending a college in Kansas and be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours per semester.

• To be eligible, you must attend a college in Kansas and take at least 12 credit hours per semester.
• A high school official will have to fill out the Ethnic Minority Scholarship Information Form for new applicants.
• Renewal applicants can apply for the Ethnic Minority Scholarship each school year to receive funding. They need to be enrolled full-time, have a 2.0 cumulative GPA, show financial need, and have satisfactory academic progress.
• Candidates will have to complete and submit the FAFSA online application before the deadline. After the dedline, the application forms will not be accepted.
• You will have to submit either the State of Kansas Student Aid Application or the Kansas Board of Regents application before May 1, 2025.
