New York Section One AWWA Operator Scholarship 2025

AWWA’s The Water Equation Campaign and the New York Section American Water Works Association supports the One AWWA Operator Scholarship. The department will award the One AWWA Operator Scholarship for $1,000 for Water or Wastewater Operator training and education.

New York Section One AWWA Operator Scholarship – Overview

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• A completed “NYSAWWA Operators Scholarship” application.
• Membership in the American Water Works Association.
• Must be a licensed Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator and employed by a New York State water purveyor.
• A write-up of the applicant’s job description.
• A short paragraph on plans for use of the scholarship fund.

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

• Complete online application.
• Have an AWWA member number or utility membership number.
• Enclose a copy of Drinking Water Treatment or Distribution System Operator’s License.
• résumé as well as two letters of recommendation or reference. 

Selection Process:

Applicants will be assessed based on a complete application form, accompanied by a cover letter of career objectives, and so on.
