Sara Scholarship 2025

The Sara Scholarship was established in 2012 in honor of Sara Sheehan, who passed away in 2011. The Henry & Sara Sheehan Foundation offers the award every year to female high school seniors who plan to pursue a college degree and who demonstrate academic achievement, excellence of character, financial need, and active engagement with the sport of golf. The Sara Scholarship awards $2500 to cover tuition, books, board, and other expenses.

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Must be female
• Must be high school seniors to graduate at the end of the school year
• Meet entrance requirements and plan to enroll at an accredited college or university in the United States
• Must hold a cumulative minimum unweighted GPA (grade point average) of 3.3 on a 4.0 scale
• Must show financial need

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

• Completed Sara Scholarship Application form
• Copy of Official High School Transcript (including Fall semester grades from senior year)
• Applicant’s personal essay (see section VI of application)
• Copy of applicant’s Student Aid Report (SAR), including the Student Aid Index (SAI)

Selection Process:

The applicants will be evaluated based on their academic record, interest in golf, excellence of character, need for financial assistance, and essay quality.
