UMKC Academic Excellence Award 2025

The University of Missouri-Kansas City offers the Academic Excellence Award to undergraduate students. The UMKC Academic Excellence Award is given to one exceptional student, who has the opportunity to receive $5,000 for educational expenses. Recipients of this scholarship can only attend the University of Missouri-Kansas City.

The scholarship is offered to students from Kansa and the geographical eligibility is restricted to only that state. The UMKC Academic Excellence Award is eligible for first-time college undergraduate students.

Eligibility:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Be a Kansas resident
• Must have ACT composite score of 28 or above OR High school core GPA of 3.75 or above
• Working toward first bachelor’s degree

Application Requirements:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

• Full-time enrollment (12+ UMKC credits per semester)
• Complete and earn 24 UMKC credits per year
• Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
• All first-time college students are considered for these awards with the exception of students in the schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry and Law
• Automatic scholarships cannot be combined with other automatic scholarships. You receive only the highest automatic award for which you qualify.

Selection Criteria:

The applicants will be considered based on their academic capabilities, as exhibited by the transcripts submitted.

Renewal requirement

• 2.75 cumulative UMKC GPA for up to five years of undergraduate study
• Full-time enrollment (12+ UMKC credits per semester)
• Complete and earn 24 UMKC credits per year
