WTS Foundation aims to empower women who are interested in or are already a part of the transportation sector by offering numerous scholarships. Every year, the WTS Portland Chapter offers the WTS Portland Chapter Gail Achterman Leadership Scholarship, awarding an award of $7,000 scholarship to a deserving female student.

Eligibility:
Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:
- Must be pursuing a graduate or undergraduate degree in transportation at an institution in Oregon or counties in SW Washington, including Cowlitz, Clark, Lewis, Pacific, Skamania, and Wahkiakum.
- Must demonstrate plans to pursue a career in a transportation-related field.
- First-generation college students and students of color can apply for this program.
