Doris Burkhalter Memorial Scholarship 2025

Project Impact Mississippi offers the Doris Burkhalter Memorial Scholarship program, aimed at supporting high school senior students across Mississippi. Under the program, one student will receive a $1,000 award to pursue their dreams and earn an undergraduate degree of their choice.

Doris Burkhalter Memorial Scholarship – Overview

Eligibility Criteria:

Scholarship applicants will be evaluated on the following criteria:

• Must be a high school senior currently enrolled in any high school in the state of Mississippi.
• Must attend a junior college or university in the state of Mississippi.
• Must have a 2.5 GPA.

Application Process:

Here’s what you must submit besides your application.

Submit a 2-4 minute video presentation answering the following question.

• Introduction. Tell us your name, where you are from, your current high school, and where you plan to attend college.
• Response. What role does perseverance play in success?
• Personal. What are some of your biggest accomplishments, and what obstacles did you face along the way?
• Lessons. What would have happened had you given up in the face of those obstables? Give an example of a time when you gave up instead of persisting.
• Benefits. At what point in your journey did you realize you had to persevere in order to succeed?
• Closing. How has this lesson impacted your road to success since?

Selection Process:

Applicants will be judged based on their ability to keep to instructions, passion and enthusiasm, and academic prowess.
